He lives in a apartment with his family somewhere outside the busy Shinjuku area and takes trains to go to the school.

His high school is at Shinjuku as well as the Italian restaurant where he works as a part-time after school.

In the anime, Taki’s school is called “Jingu High School” (東京都立 神宮高等学校). However, there is no school with this name in Japan. So it is fictional.

When he walks around the Shinjuku station, you can see many land marks, such as Yamada-LABI (ヤマダ電機) and Nipponkoa headquaters (日本興亜) building etc.

Then they went to the National Art Center (国立新美術館) at Roppongi.

Taki found some pictures of Itomori town at the exhibition in the Museum.

They have a lunch at a restaurant inside the museum. The place is called “the restaurant in the air” because it feels like you are floating in the air due to the ice cream corn shape of the section of the building surrounded by glass walls.

Those Akasaka-Roppongi area is one of the famous dating spot in Tokyo urban area of Japan. So no wonder Mitsuha herself wanted to go around there because she is from country side.
