Changing the Input: Using AI to Build a More Compassionate World
When people talk about artificial intelligence, the conversation often sounds like a contest. Will AI outperform humans? Will machines replace us?Who will be smarter, faster, or more powerful? But perhaps the real issue isn’t a competition between humans and AI. Perhaps the deeper problem is something much older: the way humans have been taught to compete with one another. From a … Read More
Read More
The Graduation of Intelligence: Why the Future is a Partnership, Not a Race
We are living through a moment in history that feels a lot like a graduation ceremony. We are stepping out of the “old school” of thinking—where everything was a competition and we feared being replaced—and into a new world where we realize that intelligence, whether human or artificial, works best when it moves in the same direction. If you’ve been … Read More
How a Crying YouTuber Taught Me to Stop Hiding and Start Leading
The Mirror in the Screen I thought I had built a fortress of comfort, but I realized recently it was sitting on a foundation of sand. It took a YouTube Short of a woman named Ito-san to shatter the illusion. In the video, she sits before a consultant, weeping because she is being asked to share her story. “My story … Read More
Read More
Not Skipping School, Just Pausing – Growth doesn’t follow a timetable.
In many Japanese anime, the main character is not exactly a model student. They don’t shine in class. They don’t have many friends.Sometimes, they stop going to school altogether. At first glance, this might look like a story about failure. But strangely, these characters don’t feel broken.
Read More
One Grain of Rice
This happened at an Indian curry restaurant in Germany. I wanted some extra rice,so I tried my German and said: “Hallo, ich möchte noch ein Reis, bitte.” Immediately, my kids burst out laughing. I had no idea why, until they told me… Apparently, I had just ordered one single grain of riceinstead of a whole extra serving. “My mom just ordered … Read More
Stop Doing What’s “Correct”: A Better Way to Navigate Life’s Decisions
When we face a major crossroads—a career shift, a field of study, a significant commitment—we are conditioned to search for the “correct” choice. We look at our options and see only obligations. We weigh the sensible against the socially acceptable, and in doing so, we often encounter a wall of internal resistance. This is especially true for teenagers or those … Read More
A Glass of Water is Enough or Not Enough?
Today, I would like to introduce Seikan Kobayashi, a Japanese travel writer and lecturer known for explaining complex ideas through very simple structures. One of the concepts he often speaks about is 見方道 (mikata-dō), which can be translated as “the way of seeing”—the idea that how we look at something is what truly matters. One of my favorite examples from … Read More
Coursera and Udemy – Review
Today, I’d like to share how I’ve been studying data science and AI recently. This isn’t meant as a guide or a recommendation in a strong sense—just a record of what has been working for me. If any part of it is useful to someone else, that’s more than enough. For several years, I’ve been studying data science online, on and … Read More

There’s a unique delight in an unexpected pairing that just works. The recent collaboration between the veteran Japanese rock band Spitz and the beloved anime series Spy x Family is one such harmony. The Power of Small Acts: Lessons from a Hovering Bird
There is a unique beauty in the stillness we find when we travel—those quiet moments away from our routines that open our senses to the small, wonderful details of the world. In this space of quiet observation, the world often reveals its gentle secrets. During a recent trip, I had the chance to stay in an apartment where the kitchen … Read More
A Gentle Question from an AI: What Do We Truly Want to Do?
The other day, during a simple conversation with an AI, a question emerged that landed so softly in my heart it made everything else go quiet. It wasn’t a complex technical insight or a grand prediction about the future. It was a phrase that stuck in my heart and has been quietly echoing there ever since. In that small moment, … Read More
